Short term rental firm giant Hertz, based in the United States of America, has recently decided to make a move into the electric vehicle business, by brokering a deal with Renault. The electric vehicle market is continuing to grow at a rapid rate in the Western world. This is being reflected in the number of rental firms deciding to use EVs in their line-up. However, some companies remain cautious about these green-vehicles, particularly regarding their price.

In the past few days Renault has processed its first order for the new Kangoo Vane ZE, its highly anticipated zero-emission light commercial vehicle. The car itself is to launched later this year. Orders placed well in advance for highly anticipated electric LCV Image courtesy of mitula.net JCDeaux, an advertising firm and long-time customer of the French manufacturer, has placed an order of six Kangoo ZEs, with the intention of using it to shuttle staff between its sites.

Located at a brand new bus station at in Camden, London, part of the station's energy will be sourced from solar panels. This site is based upon Elektromotive's Elektrobay electric vehicle recharging stations which are already a familiar sight at around London - the new three-phase station can be used today, free of charge, by users of all compatible EVs.
