It is recommended that you get your vehicle serviced as per the manufacturer’s recommendations to keep it in optimal driving condition. Although it isn't required by law like your MOT, it is still highly recommended that you get your vehicle serviced, and when you lease, servicing is a must. This is so your leasing company can check your service history to make sure the vehicle has been kept in an optimal condition. Make sure to ask about servicing when talking to your sales executive to make sure everything is explained as clearly as possible.

It's a legal requirement that all vehicles must be insured. Most on-road vehicles must also be taxed too, though there are some exemptions. Driving without either is a criminal offence (if you’re not exempt from paying tax), so it's incredibly important that you make sure your new vehicle is insured and taxed before you start driving it. When it comes to insurance, one of our funders offers an agreement with insurance included (called Arval Total Care), but most customers like to arrange their insurance themselves. Tax is included in your monthly rentals on contract hire, so you don't have to worry about taxing the vehicle yourself.
Following an initial rental with us, your monthly rentals will remain the same throughout your contract, and your vehicle tax will be included in this price. We will remind you to arrange insurance as we set up your contract, and we will always be completely transparent concerning costing. All of our funders here at MWVC use the BVRLA's (British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association’s) Fair Wear and Tear guide. At the end of your leasing contract, someone will come to collect your car and check to make sure it's still in good condition. Of course, minor bumps and scrapes happen, but some instances go way past fair wear and tear, and you may be charged for larger dents and scratches. In instances of accidents, the usual procedure will take place where your insurance will help you out if the vehicle isn't a write-off, but you should still let your leasing company know as soon as possible.
